Someone emailed me about trading me a 10/22 for a gun I have up for sale on another site. I don't know anything about what he wants to trade me as of yet. Here is what he called his 10/22.

This rifle was available to dealers only and I have never seen another one like it. The stock is a multi colored hardwood laminate and the action and trigger feel differant from others that I have owned and fired. Bottom line; I have owned this rifle since 1991

He is going to send me a picture or two and I asked for any special markings/serial number etc so I can find out what it is or if its even close to the value of what he would get for the trade.

Any clue what it may be?

Let's see if it looks like one of these. www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976768647.htm

I called Ruger and all the info they had was this....

Shipped July 1986
Model 10/22 RB/Z

The Z is for the multi colored camo stock. It is a non-catalog 10/22.

So is there really anything special about it? Whats the RB stand for?
The guy selling said the trigger feels different than most he has shot before.

It's not an rare item and all triggers feel diffrent. The guy just wants up the stakes on a trade.

Rockstar,

You will be interested to know that around 93 or 94, Dad was in Denver visiting my grandmother. He went to Wal-mart and discovered they were closing out all the international 10/22's at a very attractive price (100 bucks a gun, as I recall). So, Dad being Dad, he drove around Denver all day buying all that he could get. I think he ended up with 10 or 11 of them. Anyway, he gave me one, and held on to the rest. I think he ended up selling them in 98 or 99 at something like $150 a gun. I am not sure, but he may still have one laying around somewhere, although if he does, I haven't seen it. Frankly, I never liked mine all that well, so I traded it for a 22/45, which I turned around and sold in '02 to my old boss.

Back on topic, my feeling is that while it may be "rare", it most likely doesn't have any particularly huge value over any other 10/22. You never know until you do the research I guess, but thats my best guess.
