I have a bunch of .270win brass and I'm gearing up to reload it. There are 6 different types

Can you tell me which would be better or which is really bad, and maybe why and some history on these?

R-P
Winchester
FC
NNY
Frontier
Super Speed

Ive never seen the last three for sale so I assume they are old. I probably have the most of the Win, R-P and the Frontier 1-200 each

I've never seen NNY or Super Speed but Frountier was made for Hornady. The Frountier is good & no problems from the others ether.

Super-Speed is older Winchester/Western.
Size, trim, and weigh them.
If they weight the same as the Win, they are the same.

FC or Federal Cartridge isn't highly regarded by some.

Frontier is early Hornady made by?? I forget who.

NNY is PRVI PARTIZAN from Serbia.

Not according to Hornady as of a year ago.

Dunno? I just bought a box of Hornady 220 Swift Moly last month to try out.
They're all stamped "Frontier".
Course I don't know how old they are, but they had a lot of them on the shelf.

I have or do load with RP, FC, Winchester, and Frontier an all have produced good results. I don't know anything about thiose other's mentioned.

I did also. Actually it was mixed with Frontier & Hornady. They didn't group & I called Hornady. They sent me a shipping lable. After they got them they called me & said they were different headstamps. :scrutiny: After asking some questions they told me that company didn't make there brass any more. They also said there was 2 other companies beside themselves that made brass for them. So there should be 3 different headstamps that say Hornady.

That's a strange deal. 3 different companies using the same headstamp?
I've got Frontier brass in a number of different calibers.
Guess you'd never be sure just what you had.

Thanks guys. Ill probably start with the Win and the R-P to keep things in order.

I googled and the NNY is Privi Partizan. mixed reviews.....seems to be good enough, but not "good"

No. They are all different headstamps but I don't remember actually what he said. Seems like it was Hornady, HORNADY or hornady, & one had a star. Like I said I'm not sure but they are all different. I shoot mixed headstamps with better results then most claim a factory rifle will do so I don't pay any attention to it anymore.

A lot of commercial brass is 'branded' with company names that they do not manufacture themselves.

I've got a couple boxes of 303 Brit with the Frontier headstamp.and they came out of a Hornady box. Hell, if you want to pay the set-up fees, you can have brass headstamped with your name on it.
