The seating / crimp die in a .454 die set may be too long to crimp .45 Colt. It's like the .38 Special / .357 Mag & .44 Spl / .44 Mag thing years ago. You bought the shorter .38 Spl or .44 Spl dies to load both. rc
Actually, .45 Colt dies can be used to reload .454. But not always the other way around. The seating / crimp die in a .454 die set may be too long to crimp .45 Colt. It's like the .38 Special / .357 Mag & .44 Spl / .44 Mag thing years ago. You bought the shorter .38 Spl or .44 Spl dies to load both. rc
