RCBS 5-0-5 Scale - Pan Weight Question

How ironic!

Good to hear about your 1/4"x1/4" 20 lb paper test. USA made Ohaus and RCBS beam scales have good reputation for accuracy and consistency.

If your scale is sensitive and consistent with the paper test, it should do well with the check weights as smallest of them usually only go down to .5 gr.

I have the Ohaus ASTM Class 6 check weight set and 1 mg (0.015 gr) check weight won't register with my .02 gr resolution Gemini-20 digital scale; however, 10 mg (0.15 gr) check weight will register as .14/.16 gr along with Ohaus 10-10 - https://www.zoro.com/ohaus-calibration-weight-set-500-to-1mg-80850110/i/G0843236/

That's what I'm hoping, I really, really enjoy using this scale for reloading. It has a much more, I don't know to say it, pure (?) feel to it. I went with the Lyman deluxe kit off of Amazon. There are some old Redding #1 and Lyman D-5 scales on Amazon for pretty good prices. If I find one that appears to be in good shape I'm thinking about buying another one.

AND NO I'M NOT GOING TO SCREW WITH IT LIKE I DID THIS ONE!!! Lol, lesson learned. Tuning is one thing, changing its dynamic is another.

Nice set up.

Are you able to show detection of one or two 1/4"x1/4" 20 lb copy paper?

Link didn't work but here is the video

Thanks for sorting the link out..I've not tried my scales with copy paper (our local paper is all metric). I do have 10th grain check weights and find that around 4-5 kernels of Varget weigh about a 10th grain..

Here's my old 502 detecting single kernels of Varget without too much trouble..
