I recently purchased a RCBS 750 range master powder scale. The 750 will not maintain a zero reading after going through the entire calibration procedure. I have two other beam scales, as a double check when ever I reload, the digital was just one more quick check. One is a Lee and the other is a Redding about 30 years old. They are exacting to each other.
I have already been in contact with the supplier and exchanging it is not a problem. Two questions 1. Has anyone else had problems with the 750 and 2. Any recommendations for a digital in that price range that has proven to be reliable. I don’t mind spending a few more dollars. To add insult to injury when I turned it over I saw that it was made in CHINA. I wonder if CHINA has products made in the USA and if they have the same problems as we do with theirs?

I have the same scale and had the same problems. Make sure you let it warm up for at least 30 min, no cell phones in the area, make sure there is no static on anything, and make sure you are using standard light bulbs not the curly new ones. Try those out and see if it helps.

I use a Dillon electronic balance that I allow to warm up for approx. 20 min before using and I have had no problems with it in the 10-15 years I have owned it. RCBS usually stands by their products, so why not give their customer service department a call. I'm sure you have some recourse if you have not abused it.

My 750 has the same issue with maintaining a zero. Dito on the comments above..very sensitive and needs to be warmed up before you run through the calibration.

Thanks fellas, I will exchange for another one. I have tried all of the suggestions and the calibration still drifts upward.
