I keep a smooth and consistent stroke. I have a powder baffle. I'm still not happy with powder drop consistency. I'm presently using Universal. I'm seeing powder drifts of +- .2 gr. Pro-2000 users..what do you do to keep your load weight consistent?
I took the Uniflow measure and put it in a drawer, and set up my Lee Pro Auto Disk. Others will disagree, but I feel the Uniflow is simply incapable of consistently measuring small volumes of pistol powders.
i sort of agree....when i use very small charges of most anything in my uniflow, i can feel fron the recoil that some loads are inconsistent...i particularly remember Clays as being one of the offenders so i suspect that universal would do about the same.....DICK
I tried large and small both, and couldn't get consistent light charge weights with either. I'm using the Lee disk these days. It's not very accurate with light loads of Bullseye, but less inaccurate.
I use a Dillon powder measure on my RCBS 2000. The 2000 doesn't use the dillon linkage to insure that the measuring bar goes back each time, but since it flares the case mouth when it drops the powder it frees up the next station for a powder checker. I use the RCBS "lock out die". I installed the powder measure on the second station where the expander usually goes. The checker goes where the powder measure usually goes. It has worked great for me. You have to remember to seat the primer with an up stroke before the down stroke so the primer is seated before the powder drops.
