I've seen posts elsewhere while I was looking at different priming systems that indicate the Lee Ram Prime die is aluminum while the Lyman and RCBS Ram Prime dies are steel - but I don't know how accurate that information is.

My Lee Auto Prime II die is definitely steel.
Oh crap the one you have FEEDS the primers? I got some homework to do. Cancel-CLICK

Okey-dokey. FWIW the details on MidwayUSA show 0.20 lbs weight for the Lee Ram Prime vs 0.51 lbs each for the Lyman & RCBS Ram Prime systems, which indicates the Lee Ram Prime die is some lighter weight alloy.

Yeah the discontinued Lee Auto Prime II feeds primers by gravity, the curve of the trough causes the last 5 or so left in the trough not want to slide down when the tray above is empty according to the reviews I've read but that can be addressed in more than one way.

The shell holder die is aluminum but it is not under much stress while priming.

It's similar. The discontinued Auto Prime II has small and large plungers, a common spring (frugal) and those fit inside the die body. Plus the die has a cutout for the trough. I suspect the plungers and spring are the same as used in the discontinued Lee Auto Prime hand priming tool but there aren't any part numbers on the list of parts on the Lee Auto Prime II instructions.
