My hopper has been loose and now has come off. I can't see where it has had an adhesive applied and wonder if anyone else has had this problem and if so how did you address it? Thanks in advance.

It is made so that you can remove the hopper; sort of a press fit. The reason is that the hopper could become damaged and it is easily replaced. If your's has come off, just press it back into place.

If the fit is loose when replacing it, as mine was, I used a structural adhesive to run a very small bead around the bottom and then replaced the hopper tube. That has held up for over 6 years now.

Or, you can call RCBS toll-free, 1-800-533-5000.
And they will send you a new hopper by return mail.

Also completely free.

Redding uses two small screws that thread into the flange of the powder measure body and pass through two holes in the plastic hopper. The holes are 180 degrees apart.

A reasonable solution and easily removable.

RCBS will come through but keep this in mind. It may come in handy at some point in time.

If the hopper will fit snug into the base:
Dismantle the base.
Place the hopper on your bench, top down.
Position the base on the hopper.
Using a hammer with a block of wood to protect the base, tap the base onto the hopper.
If you cannot firmly seat the hopper, call RCBS.

Mine had an unfortunate encounter with a flying ball bearing (don't ask, those of you that raised boys already know) that "starred" the side of the hopper and knocked it out of its seat, when I tried to replace it, it was way too loose.

I just put a layer of fiberglass tape around the base of the hopper in the "stepped down" portion and its worked great for the last 15 years. It's much easier to remove and replace the hopper for cleaning or storage than it used to be before we "broke" it.

While I'm sure RCBS would have replaced it for free, making them pay for my lack of parenting skills/discretion doesn't seem ethical to me.

For the OP, the hopper is force fit and does not use an adhesive, If it has come loose and you force it back on and it does not stay then I would call RCBS. It may be have become brittle. You did not say how old it is or if you leave powder in it a lot.

Now that I know it's a press fit I can see that the best answer is to replace it. There are some issues I need to address with a die that needs polished and now is as good a time as any to get my problems resolved. Thank you all for your input.

Mine must be a different model??

My two UniFlow measures have a 'Stepped' bottom surface--you can not turn upside down for a press fit into the base??:uhoh:

Mine is a different size at the top and is nowhere near going to be pressed into the bottom.

I have never had mine off, but I think you are correct, it must have a step or groove to fit in the metal Oh well so much for thinking.:banghead::D

Sometimes just turning it over (upside down) will give you a tighter fit.

But then the powder falls out! :D

Yes, the Uniflow hopper has a step in the base. I have one on the desk that was replaced. My base must have been cut at the bottom of the tolerance zone. I had the devil of a time getting the old one off and the new one on.
