is there any apreciable difference between a uniflow, and a uniflow II powder measure? also, will the cylinders interchange? i am looking to buy a used one. so before i buy one or the other, i want to make sure if i buy one or the other, if a small (pistol) cylinder will fit in them. in other words, do i need a uniflow II cylinder to fit in a uniflow II measure? is one better than the other? do they wear out? if so, fast? thanks.

"do they wear out? if so, fast? thanks."

Every thing wears out, but not fast. Don't know much specific about the Uniflow, I prefer Redding's measures.

Not sure of the differences in the cylinders for each, or if they are interchangeable or not. I can say that I have been using three uniflow for over 20 years and have not had any issues other than breaking a couple of the plastic inserts.

One sits on top of my 4x4 press and the other two are used on the bench or at the range for load work up.

Not sure how many loads one would have to throw or how hard you would have to slam the handle to actually wear one out. Either way, I still bet you wold have gotten more than your money's worth from them.

Best bet would be to call or email RCBS and get your answer from the source. 800-533-5000 or www.rcbs.com Be prepared to wait if you call(call early in the AM is best) or I have experienced email replies in 48 hours. Hope this is helpful to you. :)

moooose, I have to agree with 41 mag.... i can't wear mine out either.... and I have always been very pleased with how well it works.....

When I bought mine 20+ years ago it didn't come with a small rotor. I called RCBS and they sent me one for free. It's still going strong.
