If you are tired of unscrewing the RCBA Vibrator bowl wing nut, about three inches long, I have a solution. Take a piece of thick walled tubing, steel of Aluminum, cut a slot in the end of it about 3/4" long and 1/4" wide along the tube vertically. Chuck the tube into a Battery powered drill and wala, you can put the drill into reverse and off comes the wing nut, just put the drill in forward and run the wing nut down, but not until it makes contact with the plastic bowl, it could crack the bowl, Just finger tighten to finger tight after that. Save time when emptying bowl of media to extract cases. Good Luck.

I just made a spacer from I think it was a 44 mag, drilled the primer hole out to fit over the thread. Sized the neck down just over the size of the threaded rod, put a washer over the necked brass and flared the case mouth then soldered the washer on. The wing nut only needs to be turned a few threads and it's tight.

My Lyman and Frankfort arsenal tumblers had the long stem and wingnuts. I put a thick washer under the wingnut. That helped. Now i have the Berry's. They don't have as long of a stem. And a nicer style nut. They have lasted the longest too for me. The Frankfort's the bowels cracked. The Lyman the motor burnt out.

It sounds like you basically made a homemade deep socket, and thats a neat idea! I would have been more inclined to cut the stem off.

I like to leave items the way they were made, that way I don't void any warrantee's. I like to also engineer special items for my reloading bench. I first noticed some power on the bench after reloading and used a small vacuum to clean is up. I got a stainless Steel Serving tray and mounted my Uniflow Powder measure and RCBS II press and now when I notice a spill of powder I can just move the powder into the corner and when I break it down after reloading, I can just dump the powder into the correct container. That only one item I have engineered for my reloading area. I don't modify special parts.
