I just wanted to take a moment to thank 'rcmodel' and all the members of this forum who so graciously share their helpful knowledge. You can not imagine the value your generosity has in posting comments and answers to the questions someone like me submits online.

I recently purchased a Beretta 84 pistol on GunBroker that I really liked, but it developed a problem that had me scratching my head and searching the internet for information and assistance. On a thread "Beretta 84 disassembly problem" from over four years ago http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=4047104#post4047104 I found just the info I needed. The knowledge and experience rcmodel shared was what I need to 'repair' my used pistol. This just happened this weekend. I always stop to read his reply if I am skimming over a thread, and I got a big smile when I read what he had to say in January, 2008.

Thanks again to all who take the time and effort to share your experience with those of us less knowledgeable. You generosity is a significant contribution to making this an enjoyable hobby for all of us.

Ditto!

I, too, am in debt to the many fine posters on this board, RC among them. Dialogue of this caliber is unlikely to occur at my LGS or with my friends, half of whom are antis.

The way I see it we all are thrown into a big pool of info. I learn a bunch from others and at times I can help with the odd problem that I have experience in. There are several like RC that have the time and expertise to do a world of good on this and other forums. I thank them in part by paying it forward with any information when I am able to. There are a LOT of good folks on the shooting forums as well as this one in particular. I am proud to be a member here.

I learn more from this site about guns and reloading than anywhere else. I am amazed at the wealth of info and experience out there. It makes me feel indebted and want to share any useful info I may have to help someone else. THR is a great community.

I have read and read and read on here for awhile, just trying to catch up. I also want to thank everyone for their knowledge and also keeping alot of misinformation out of here.

MrHill,
That's a good point on misinformation. When bad info gets posted, there is always someone here that knows and will correct it. If it weren't for RC and some others here, I'd still be afraid to tumble my loaded cartridges for fear I'd catch a bullet in the rear.

Good folks here and I'm grateful for all the info shared.

My wife wants to know why I spend so many hours here, reading and (sometimes) posting. She refers to THR as "gun porn"! -Fortunately, she's also a shooter, and she really likes that her Ruger Ultralight .243 now shoots 1/2 moa. How? I tell her I got the info on THR!

I too appreciate all the advise and help I receive here and I always try to return the favor when a question is simple enough for me to have an answer for.

This site is a wealth of info. I always get a kick out of threads that start with "Has anybody ever..." or "Does anybody know..." because I can't honestly remember somebody not getting a quick and accurate answer. Many times I'll see these questions and have no clue whatsoever what the answer is but soon enough somebody comes along that does. It's amazing.

I've even taken the liberty to send rc a private message regarding something thats very puzzling to me. BOOM, within 1/2 an hour, theres the answer. Very decent man, experience galore!! A very gracious man also!

Rcmodel and others have been incredibly generous with their knowledge and advice.

Could not thank them more...

When I first started looking at thehighroad I was both cautious and skeptical about reading the posts and actually posting myself. I quickly realized that there were several like rcmodel that knew what they were saying and were a real value to advancing the love for firearms and reloading and didn't have a hidden agenda. I also realized that even though I had been hunting a shooting for almost 60 years there were many like me who could improve their firearms and reloading skills by sharing information. It has been good for me.

I agree! There are many on sites like this that make our lives much easier! I too stop to see what RCMODEL has to say, while scanning thru threads. I most sincerely hope he's with us for many years to come. I suspect that some day there will be a tribute thread for him, as there was for Cletus Hungwell (Rusty) on rimfire Central. Thanks to you folks who take the time to enlighten others!!!http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=246417

+1 I just wanted to thank Rcmodel and everyone else who contributes to this site! I cannot begin to explain how many times I have been banging my head against a wall to have RC or someone else give the information I needed. I am no gunsmith, but I like to tinker, and everyone has helped me expand my knowledge so much over the course of the last 3 years I feel like I have been taking night classes!

To RC, It has come to my attention that you might take my earlier post as trying to kill you off. Please rest assured that it was not. Quote "I most sincerely hope he's with us for many years to come." My intent was to give you the utmost respect, and put you in the same elevated catagory as Rusty! Hope you took it in the spirit it was intended, most sincerely sorry if not.
