I’m going to have my Bisley Blackhawk fitted with a mount for a RDS for deer hunting and the off season practice. Thinking of going with the old tried and true UltraDot, but might put a reflex style on it instead of a tube style. My go to are RMRs for classes/training and carry, but was looking at different options and brands with a clearer and larger view. I have shoot a few Holosuns and Burris’, but was wondering how the Swampfoxes were holding up? I have only used one SF, and it was for a very short time. Seemed clear and had a larger window than most. But they all seem to be around the same price point, with Holosun being a bit higher (and more proven)

So what has your experience been with any of the non Trijicon brands for range and field use? I understand they won’t be as durable as an RMR, well Holosun is close. But more focused on larger and clearer window and value.

Thanks for the input,
Lefty

I have an ultra dot on my super redhawk. been on it for about 10 years. Only thing I have done to it is change the batteries. Shot alot of deer out to 75 yards with it.

I put a Burris FF3 on my .45 Colt Blackhawk. One for one on Whitetail bucks, will be using it again this year. I have a short mount drilled and tapped in front of my rear sight, FF comes off and I can use my irons. Some day I will try an Ultra dot, but for the limited hunting I do, the Burris is fine. hc18flyer
