I'm looking at getting a single shot, break action .223 rifle, but I'd rather it have the ability to shoot 5.56 and 77 grain bullets. Do I need to have the barrel re-chambered to 5.56 or can I use 5.56 ammo and be okay?

OR do I not need to do anything as 77 grain .223 ammo is commonly available?

If your rifling twist is 1/7, .223 77 grain is all you need to do.

I'm not familiar enough with what rifling twists the single-shot makers are using, but I suspect it will be too slow for 77 grain bullets.

BTW: Your location sig is very 'cute'.
You afraid someone might find out where you actually live for some reason??

The seller is saying the gun is "very accurate" with 55 grain bullets, so the twist probably is slow.

And no to the following question. Just my tribute to "the cream of the crop."
