The Rogers Shooting School conducted a private five day Intermediate/Advanced reactive handgun training course in Ellijay, Georgia May 6-11, 2012. The school is owned and operated by Bill Rogers, a former FBI Special Agent and champion shooter.

On the philosophy page of the school’s website, he states: “The main difference between our school and others is that we teach the students how to successfully engage small partial targets that are only exposed for .50 to .75 of a second. From the first drill of the first day, our targets are exposed for less than a second and they never get slower.” The ability to hit a target in those short periods of time is how he defines ‘reactive’ shooting.

I've known several folks who have attended...a couple have attended more than a few times...none have every regretted attending and none have ever returned not humbled

I've heard nothing but good things about the course. Shooting a good score there strikes me as the definition of "perishable skill" though.

There's a little degradation in capability over time but not as much as might be thought. I hadn't shot the Testing Program in 2 1/2 years and still shot a 105 cold. Most returning students will drop a few points on their first day back but not a heinous amount.

Increase the ceiling and the average is sure to follow. In terms of performance that is.
