I've been through one war, three prison riots and a couple Boy/Girl Scout camping trips.

I've been described as looking like someone Tony Soprano knows on a professional basis.

I did break someone's arm once. On purpose.

Even at 64, you probably do not want to arm wrestle me.

One of my old Nicknames was "Knuckles".

This XXXL body has lots of scars, some acquired honorably.

So why will this Testament to Manliness be stuffing shells into his Beretta next range day of a hue more often seen on "Project Runway" than the testosterone laced line on Range 4?

Because it's for a worthy cause...

Breast cancer still kills too many women. It's one of the most common fatal cancers.

Mom died of it, so did an aunt. Daughter's at risk.

Federal makes and sells target ammo in 12 gauge only that's in bright pink hulls. A portion of the proceeds goes to breast cancer research.

PGC, my home range and test site, is selling these cheaper by the case than Gun Clubs. Since the Federal ammo I've used in the past has ranged from Pretty Darn Good to AWESOME, this is a very good deal.

The load itself is 1 1/8 oz at 1145 FPS, so it should be a fine clays and dove load. And a fine practice load for 3 gun,Prac/Tac and so on.

So,go ahead. Buy some pink shells, shoot them up, save lives.

Thanks....

I might just do that.

My wife's side of the family, and therefore the wife, is either at risk or survivors. And since I need to pick up a case of 12 gauge for the labor day weekend shootout, might as well buy some that go for a good cause.

Eeyup. bought me some at Sportsmans the other day and boy did I get some looks when I started shucking the empty hulls out on the line at our last trap shoot.

Well, well, well ... I knew someday my color blindness would pay off! :D I'll do my best to get my hands on some.

Like the stock on that little pink 20 ga. 870 says -

Shoot like a girl - if you can.

Fred

I will look out for these and grab 'em if they are still around. Thanks for the heads up

When you do drink beer, do you drink Dos Equis? :)

Sometimes.

Actually, I drink anything I want to. Limit's one.

Last one, Sam Adams Summer Ale...

Gives me another good reason to buy my very 1st shotgun sooner rather than later.

(I visit this area to learn).

I bought a flat earlier in the year and used it in my trap league. I never even thought twice about it. I actually ended up trading a couple of boxes to some of the lady shooters because they wanted to shoot pink shells.

Well, if you're really that big and scarred up, I doubt anyone will make fun your your pink "thyotgun thyelth".:p

Very entertaining potht, BTH.:D

As a Prostate Cancer Survivor, Mother deceased from breast cancer, as well as 4 other family members recently, I'm all for anything that brings AWARENESS to any type of cancer!

If there is one thing I would say here for everybody is that EARLY DETECTION is the difference between life and death......

THAT'S A FACT!:)

Thanks, folks. A couple things...

danez, it's a great resource here. If you've any questions, ask away publicly or by PM.

John, those Lilac Fiocchis are purty. These,if I can find data, will end up as hulls for specialty reloads. Maybe some 3/4 oz trainers for some lucky young lady.

B5, if you're there Saturday early, look for me on Range 4 doing wobble.

Mike, ask B5 if I fit the description. We've shot together some.

Straightshooter, another survivor here, though just basal cell carcinoma. A couple of the biopsies were "suspicious"...

Anyway, good cause, good ammo, good price.

Win/Win....

Thanks for the welcoming offer. So far I've learned a lot. I've learned that I want a $650 shotgun for $250.

(Intended as a purely fun gun with a dash of HD - The childhood desire still lingering is a reliable single trigger coach with ejectors. Extractors would be fine. I'll probably end up settling for an 18.5" 88 . Different thread though)

I'll take you/the forum up on the offer fairly soon.

I'll probably buy a box or two before I even buy the gun if I can find them local. I didnt get to know my mother in law as well as I wish I could of.

Me too. Mine was precancerous. I guess a step past suspicious but not cancer. Carved off the top of my skull where I have a birthmark :scrutiny:

Bump.... for a worthy cause.

At the risk of sounding less man-ly..... Ive got quite a bit of breast cancer stuff. From kitchen stuff to wind chimes.

Even if just a penny from every box goes to the cause...... its worth it.

The only problem I have with Breast Cancer Awareness is that there are other cancers out there that could use that kind of support. I was at a car show registering, and it was for this awareness, and the registration lady asked this man in line "Are their any survivors in your group?" The man said yes. She asked who, and he replied "Me."

The look she gave said it all: You're a man, therefore you couldn't have survived breast cancer, and breast cancer is the only one that counts here.

Since I nearly lost my own mom to STOMACH cancer, I damn near turned around and left.

As I'm sure you know, men get breast cancer too. In fact, along the same line.... its been in the news the last couple weeks about a guy that got breast cancer and his health insurance denied him... it only covered it for women.

It got such media attention the insurance company reversed course.

I dont know the company name and its off topic anyways.

I was at a Cowboy Action Shooting match today, and one of the Cowboys was those using pink shells.

Reloaded with 70 grains of black powder, fired from an original Winchester 1887 shotgun.
