I picked a this Bersa Thunder (new) on May 24 took it to the range put a few through and had to ajust the rear site apon doing so the site fell apart on me, they stripped the screw pocket at factory :uhoh:(no problem them things happen) I called Bersa and they gave me the # for a T&A Gunsmithing in PA. so I called them they said send the slide they would take care of it,

I sent it an the 26 do to the Holiday weekend they got it on June 1. So I gave them a week and called they said it was checked in and they would have it done and in the mail by Fri june 11 good I thought, Waited all week never got it so I call yeasterday and he tells me it will be shipped eather Friday or Monday :fire: now I am steamed.
Has any one had any Dealings with this
T & A Gunsmithing, out of Henryville, PA

thinking next time I have a problem I will send it to a warrenty center further away if they are quicker at getting it back

Use Firefox or something, I have a headache now.

Few things are worse than having to wait for someone else to do their job; I've experienced similar things. Word of mouth is a good tool for convincing some folks to keep things tight.

My friend had the same problem as you--his rear sight screw fell out at the range and was lost. Fortunately, Bersa sent him a replacement at no cost. Be sure to loctite it in place once you get it dialed in. IMO the small adjustable sights on this gun are a huge oversight on Bersa's part. They're really not durable and are a significant disadvantage over fixed sights.

Unfortunately, the transfer bar spring on his gun also decided it liked to pop out randomly and render the gun inoperable. It was an easy fix, but did it rather often...also not something you want to happen with a carry gun. Watch out for that too.

with mine I found the screw and spring it was the housing it all gose in to that was stripped the site screw was turned in all the way hard it turned out easy and the screw was also chipped but only held in by only one or two threds that were left in the housing.

I have been looking at the http://bersachat.com just have not takin the couple min. to register

I got my slide in Last night so I got my back together have not had a chance to fire it hopefully tomarrow the new site ajusts fine

I have handled two Bersa 380s over the past few years. Mine is the regular Bersa Thunder 380, and my ex-girlfriend has the Firestorm model, which is basically the same gun with molded rubber finger indentations on the front of the grip. Both guns have been really reliable (hers was bought new, and mine was bought used). Neither of us has had any problem with the rear sights or anything.

I hope this isn't a problem for many other Bersa shooters! These guns come with lifetime warranties, but the actual warranty work is done by a handful of contracted gunsmiths around the USA. The Bersa website lists those gunsmiths and advises owners not to send their guns back to Bersa in Argentina or the Firestorm distributor in New Jersey. I'd be interested in finding out which of the Bersa-authorized warranty gunsmiths has the best service.

A few weeks ago I was at the range and while trying to sight in my Thunder 380 Plus the sight blade went AOL. It flew about 5 feet into the grass and rusted brass. I crawled around for about 10 minutes but, couldn't find it. I ordered a new one but, I am having problems getting it in. Is there a trick to compressing the spring enough to get the blade to fall into the little track?

Thanks in Advance

Rick

I know this is an old thread, but I am having this same problem. How do you put the sight blade into the rear sight. It just doesn't seem to fit in?

It took me a while to figure it out but you need to compress the little spring (I used a toothpick) at just the right angle and it will drop in.

People we have found over years at BersaTalk 1 and 2, Also Now at Bersachat.com that 99% or the time its the shooter not the pistol. The barrel is pinned to frame and if you move while firing it's off On bersachat.com I have posted the target that tells you what your doing wrong in the FAQ section. The 2 best we have found for warranty , one in Co. and other in La. I can't really pick one I have to remain neutral. Royce in Co, was my on board gunsmith adviser on both BersaTalk 1 and 2 . I have decided to try to remain neutral on my newest board and let all have a chance We have a feed back section for customers. http://berestchat.com
