Her smarmy attitude is pretty obvious when she leans in and gets visibly excited, delivering that famous line: "Are you a trigger happy kind of person? Is that what you wanted to do? Shoot? To kill?"
No one forced her to ask that question. Regardless of being pro or anti-gun, that is a very insulting thing to phrase a question like that. A reporter as experienced as herself can use tact and technique to mold questions in such a manner other than what we saw as a direct attack.
Would you ask someone that accidentally hit a pedestrian that leaped onto the road, "Are you a lead footed kind of person? Is that what you wanted to do? Speed? To kill?"
No, you would probably phrase your questions differently.
