reblueing?

I'm getting in a trade a 29-3 S&W with a 8 3/8 barrel. There is a far bit of wear around the muzzle. I was needing to know if I had the gun reblued would it make the gun worth less. And what if I sent it back to S&W for the job.

Unless the original finish is pretty trashed, you will take a hit on value after a re-blue since it will no longer be in original condition.

If you have it re-blued, a S&W factory job will lower the value LESS since its done at the factory.
