I recently acquired a 22LR single action revolver which once belonged to my Grandfather. It has a serial number, caliber and Germany stamps but no manufacturer marking. My Grandfather has been dead for around 35 years and he was an Italian imigrant so it could very well have european origins. It is basic blued finish and has black plastic grips with a buffalo on them. If anyone has any idea who produced such guns I would really appreciate some help identifying it. It is very well build and accurate and a blast to plink with.

Buffalo grip logo indicates it is an R.I.G. or FIE Buffalo Scout imported in the late 60's - early 70's.

Cheap import with not much value, other then if it still works, it is probably safe to shoot it.

Be aware that it is not safe to carry fully loaded.

Always load one, skip one hole, load four more, then fully cock and let the hammer down on the empty chamber.

The value is of no concern. It's all I have from my grandfather. Thanks for the advice. Safety reminders never hurt anybody. Do you know if I can replace the grips with SAA grips or is there a size difference?

Far as I know, there is nothing at all interchangeable with the Colt .22 Scouts or SAA's either.

I had a dealer friend selling those things in the early 70's, and it kept me in beer money making replacement parts for them that worked just so he could sell them brand new.
