I used to own some EXTREME:what: magnum revolvers from J.P. Sauer. I owned 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum and 45 Magnum revolvers. I kept them until I began buying Rugers in the 90s. I really like shooting single actions. I have a desire for fire and choose magnums. P95 Carry will understand that.:neener: I was into CAS and fast draw, hunting and have even CCWd a single action. I recently became aware of a beautifully finished and well built single action. The company making these is just a bunch of regular folks. I have often enjoyed talking with them. The single action revolver has been perfected in my estimation. Remington produced the 1890 revolver and the folks at Hartford Armory have cloned it. (Better than the original!) Their best model is their 8 and 3/4", Doug Turnbull CCHd, 45 Magnum +P revolver. I like it! http://www.hartfordarmory.com/rem90zoom.htm www.hartfordarmory.com

Nice. Isn't that the one that can handle Ruger only loads? They should consider getting into the 5 shot adjustible sight market with octagon barrels and other goodies. Maybe offer made-to-order type guns.

I get:

-------------
The Frontier Spot

The Cowboy Action Shooting Resource

We have moved!!!

If your browser doesn't automatically go there within a few seconds, you may want to go to the new site manually.

Thank you for your continued support.

...and then get dumped to:

http://www.frontierspot.org/ - which doesn't seem to have beans on Hartford :scrutiny:.

Josey, do a refresh. I think you're pulling old data out of your own local cache.

If you have a contact phone number for them, drop them a line or post it here. I'm kinda interested. Esp. if they've retained the Remmie hammer-between-cylinders safety system, and/or improved the safety in some other way...

Uh, El Cajon IIRC designed their site. He may even be their "host". I believe there IS a cache error. Their alternate address is Hartford Armory located at 100 B Main Street in Collinsville, CT 06022 Telephone is 860-693-8932 Taylor's & Co., Inc. has them available also. IIRC, you can apply a down payment to your order and simply owe the balance upon delivery.

Site worked fine for me and I don't know that I've visited it before. That sixgun is only about half the price of the cannon they sell. Probably worth every penny though by the looks of it. Darn you Josey. ;)

Site worked fine for me. I emailed them about a hunting version of their gun but haven't heard back so far. Probably having lots of meetings about the idea. hehe

Works now.

Quite nice stuff there.

Hmmmm.

How does the safety work on these? Is it a "rest the hammer between any two rounds" affair like an NAA mini?

Or are they purely a five-up proposition?

These are the 1875 and 1890 cartridge revolvers. They are five up to my way of thinking. I don't trust ANY "safety notch". You do have factory dummy/snap caps included, you could load one in as a rest for the hammer.
