Will the installation of a Buffertech recoil buffer on my SKS cause it too jam?
Recoil buffer.

Maybe. It's an SKS, why do you think it needs a recoil buffer?

The simple answer is......maybe. I have one in my AK and it functions great...however I have read about others experiencing problems. I think the only way to really be sure, is to try it yourself. If you don't want to spend the 14 or so bucks on a buffer technologies one to try.....check out the website below.

I had problems with feeding in one of my AK's with one in it. After I took it out, it worked fine. Never had another problem. I've heard a lot of people swear by them too, so I guess you'll just have to try it and see if it works ok for you. I never noticed any wear on the back of my recievers from the bolt carrier bottoming out, so I dont know how necessary they really are. I've heard some people say it reduces recoil, but I didnt notice that when it was removed.

I tried some for a Browning HiPower. They didn't work. And in my experience, I don't know how it would ever work. It gets in the way of the slide, caused the gun to malfunction and moves about on its own. It's a joke!

Got rid of some annoying trigger slap.
Put one in my heavy-barreled 10/22. Big difference, scope crosshairs stayed on target as gun fired, and the recoil, along with mechanical noise, dropped considerably.
As long as it doesn't interfere with form or function, give it a try on the SKS.
I won't, however, recommend them for handguns using the Browning tilting barrel action(1911, BHP). They are sacrificial, at best.

I have used them in one form or another in BHP, 1911, 10/22, and a Sten Mk. II sub-gun. I have never encoutered any reliablility issues. In the 1911 in particular, I have fired 10s of thousands of rounds using a shok-buff and never had a problem of any kind.
I have read that they work from some pretty knowlegable folks. I can't verify that they reduced wear on my guns, but I do know that since they have not caused me any problems, and they are dirt cheap, I am going to continue to use them in the event that they work as advertised.

Nothing but trouble in my 1911's...
During my IPSC days, firing several hundred rounds of IPSC Major Power Factor each day when I was running through the stages. I changed them religiously, but they still ended up falling apart at the wrong times, causing problems. Saw the same problems in other competitor's guns, too.
The Buffertech in my SLR-95 has been a blessing, however.
