Recoil Comparison Question for G23C Owners: G23 vs. G23C vs. G19

Anyone out there have a G23C that can speak to the porting's recoil reduction? I love the .40, but also really liked the 9mm when I shot it (always been a .4+ guy). The 23C seems like it might be a nice compromise...so my two questions are as follows:

1) On a scale of 1-10, if the G19 is a 1 and the G23 a 10, where would the 23C be?

2) Any downsides to the porting? Increased muzzle flash at night? Blackening of the sights? (I know the ports are designed to minimize powder residue on the sights but my freakin' minivan was designed to operate without replacing a whole boatload of parts as well...).

about an 8. the porting doesn't do much IMO.

I have a 23C but if I were going to do it again I'd get the 23. My sights never get black but if you had to fire close-in the porting does direct gas/particles upward at high speeds.

get the 23 and a 9mm conversion barrel.
