I'm considering having Briley install a recoil pad on my Browning Citori Ultra XS. It offers several different models, from Pachmayr to Limbsaver to the whole R.A.D. system.

Has anyone had any experience with these aftermarket recoil reducers?

I'm really curious about the R.A.D. I'm a little nervous that it will throw the gun's balance off, and I like my gun balanced the way it is.

IMO the limbsaver pad itself does an amazing job of reducing recoil, without the expense and weight of a mechanical recoil reducer.

LimbSaver. I have shot up to 2 1/4 oz. turkey loads out of my 835 with no bruising. I'm a believer.

You might also look for a local gunsmith and save the shipping - pad installation and grinding isn't THAT hard to do

My local guy when I lived out West charged $30 for the installation plus whatever the pad cost

That's good. The largest loads my Citori sees are 1 1/8 oz.

I thought about that, but I don't really know of one where I live. And I'm pretty paranoid about letting people touch my shotgun. I'll as around, though.

Hotshot- Just go online to the LimbSaver site and see if they've got one that's a custom fit for your gun. All it takes is taking the old one off & screwing the new one on. A 15 minute job.
