I just picked up a used Skeet o/u. I like it but it has a concave rifle type recoil pad on it. Just judging by looks alone I like the Pachmayer Decelerator. Does anyone have any recommendations? Limbsaver, Kick eez, Pachmayer, or others. My concern is more for a mounting than for recoil.

Thanks,

BB

I'm not a fan of endorsing particular products but I do swear by LimbSaver pads. When you say mounting, do you mean putting it on the gun, or mounting the gun to your shoulder? As for installing LS pads if you get the one made for your gun (they've got lots of versions) it's dead simple. Because the pads are kinda sticky I've found that throwing the gun out, then up to the shoulder, works well.

I used to install them myself but I no longer have a shop setup. I think I'll have a local smith do it. But yes, the reason I want it is so I can shoulder it more smoothly, and while I agree with your mounting description I think the Decelerator with its hard rubber insert or a sporting clays type pad may be more to my liking. Thanks for your reply I'll keep it in mind.
