Anyone have any experiance with either the Danuser Counter Coil or the sims recoil pads? My daughter is 14 and weighs 75 pounds. The shotgun she uses is very light and kicks her very hard. I don't want to buy the wrong one.

Probably the most effective recoil pads around are the Limbsaver polymer types.

Limbsaver makes one for Remington, which Remington calls the "R3", and uses on the Police guns and some other hard-kicking guns.

According to Remington, the Limbsaver-R3 reduces felt recoil by 30% over regular pads.

Most people who've tried one, report that buckshot or slugs feel like field loads.

The Limbsaver I bought is a good'un. Possibly the best here, though I also like the Decellerator.

Try one, and leave it untrimmed to further spread out the kick. Looks funny, works very well.

Another vote for the Limbsaver - although I did have a moment of jaw -drop at the cash register. Just swapped out an ancient pachmayer pad for a medium one on my 12 GA SxS. Makes a noticable difference, and mine's a perfect fit.

Going to blow some goose loads through it this weekend..., so far, nothing larger than 5's, but even at that there's a big difference.

I've put the Beretta gel pad on all of my berettas, duh, but also put one on a remy 788 243 I sold to a friend's son. They come in different thicknes, so you can get a correct ( sorta' of ) LOP. 75lbs doesn't absorb much recoil, a 28ga might be the ticket.

Recoil pad

Thanks guys, I have ordered the Limbsaver and the shells. Hope to have her back on the range soon.

I haven't tried a "Limb Saver" on my shotty, but a shooting buddy put one on his Ithaca 37 in 16-ga.

Guy is of well, lesser physical presence (5' 6", about 160Lbs soaking wet with 2 pockets full of sand) Said he can actually shoot standard Remington "sluggers" out of it now without pain.

I tried the Beretta Gel pads, they did nothing for me. I put on a Limbsaver and it was so much better. I bought a prefitted one. Is there a difference in recoil absorbsion between the unfitted ones and the fitted ones?
