Hi all:
I've been looking into a laser light for my G-19. However, I guess these units can fit on various makes so that's probably not an issue.
I want the type that hangs beneath the barrel BUT do not want the type that comes with an integrated flashlight. I just want the laser.

From what I've seen, the only one that fills the bill is the Crimson Trace but these go for over $300 which seems very high considering what it is.

I did have a Laser-light unit some years ago but had to return it as it wouldn't hold a zero and I got put off by them until now.
So, I'd much appreciate a reco for something solid that doesn't cost $300 +. Or is that just what good units cost?

Thanks for replies

There is probably a reason the Crimson Trace cost's so much, and perhaps you've hit on the reason.

Shop around. Crimson Trace can sometimes be found for significantly less.

For shooting in a defensive situation, any laser that you have to manually turn on strikes me as a bad idea. Just one for thing to forget to do in the heat of the moment.

Thus, Crimson Trace Lasergrip or Laserguard. That is good stuff.

Some others have automatic on laser systems. Viridian has a system, I think it works in conjunction with their holster.

Armalaser is another.

Adding a laser makes finding a decent holster much harder, and daylight makes red lasers worthless. Just be aware of it.

Their ECR tech is a magnet along the bottom interior of their light/laser that triggers on and off when it meets another magnet. They have a kit to add the magnet to nearly any holster.

I still use a Viridian light on my compact firearms. But full size ones wear Streamlight.

Crimson Trace is top-notch and costs what it does for a reason. I don’t add lasers, lights, or red dots to a carry gun. They add more size and weight, and for me, size and weight are everything in a carry gun. With polymer pistols being the norm, lasers are a no go for me. You need new holsters and they look like a tumor growing on the gun. A laser GRIP is welcome on any gun for me. I have one on a S&W 681, the gun my wife would grab if she needed one. She needs all the help she can get.

LaserMax which is offered for many Glocks. I have one of their Gripsense trigger guard models. on my Ruger LCPII .380. They have rail mount as well. 4-Ruger LCPII Laser.jpg
