I am interested in learning about the history of the development and evoltion of the revolver. In conjunction with this I would like to know more about the gunfighters of the "Old West", both the law and their adversaries, what they carried and when.

Is there any one book that covers these topics?

Revolver Guide, by Maj. George C. Nonte, Jr. South Hackensack, NJ: Stoeger Publishing Company, 1980.

14 pages on History and Development, 10 pages on The Gunfighters of Old; 23 other chapters on other revolver-related topics, 288 pages total.

Got my copy at a local used bookstore for $5.50. :D

No, you can't have it for that price. :neener:

Here you go

Age of the Gunfighter: Men and weapons on the Frontier 1840-1900
Written by Joseph G. Rosa, published by Salamander.
If you like western fiction try Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy.
Both great reads, enjoy.:)

A supplement, revolver info only:

Taylerson, A. W. F. (1967). Revolving Arms. New York: Walker and Company

Pretty good set of photographs.
