Hey guys and gals. I am looking for a good holster for my newly acquired Smith&Wesson 4" HB Model 10-8 . I like leather, I would prefer a thumb-break. I want something that holds the gun tightly to my body. I would like a re-enforced mouth, either kydex or steel. I'd like something that can double as a conceal carry holster and a general field holster. OWB is fine. I like a high ride and I would like it to cover the entire barrel length. I've looked around online but there are so many choices. I was hoping someone with some experience carrying their K-Frame would chime in. Thanks!

I just acquired a 4" K model 64 myself and I am trying to decide between Simply Rugged and Lobo. I prefer OWB but want mouth reinforcement, Simply Rugged doesn't offer that option, Lobo does. I prefer pancake but may get an Avenger style. I'll welcome suggestions too. Thanks

I carry my Model 10 in an old tan basketweave Bianchi 5BHL (It's the size 6, and basketweave is no longer an option, I guess.) It has dual belt loops so you can wear it with a 1½ inch or 1¾ inch belt. Mine's old, but it's still a top-rated holster for ready-made as opposed to custom. I also have a very old, lined Bucheimer Semi-Shoulder holster in black basketweave that I use from time to time, but they haven't made them in a long time.

I just looked at the Bianchi but it does not have the re-enforced mouth. I currently use a Bianchi for my Kahr CW45 and so far have not been too impressed with it. I like he Lobo Leather holsters but they are pricey. Which is okay if it is a quality holster that I wil use for years to come.

There are probably better concealed carry holsters, but for field use I am all about the Galco DAO. Can be worn strong side or cross draw and has a covered trigger guard for crashing through the brush, a must have for me.
