I'd like to get a good red dot sight that I can use both with an AK-47 and a .22LR bolt action CZ-452.

Is it asking too much to find a red dot sight in the $100 range that will work well with both guns?

I've never purchased a red dot sight before, so the only frame of reference I have is "Call of Duty, Modern Warfare" on the XBox 360.

Try the vortex strikefire. They run around 150$ and I'm sure would be fine on both guns.

I've also heard good things about primaryarms red dot sights. I'm pretty sure you can get them around or under 100$. I have no experience with them tho. I'd look em up and read about em.

I foresee some problems.

Mounting one on a CZ is going to be a problem because of the way scopes mount on CZ rifles.
They use a 11mm groove tip-off mount or 1"/30mm scope rings.

The AK-47 will end up with either a STANAG scope mount on the side of the receiver or some sort of replacement Picatinny/Weaver Rail where the rear sight is now.

So, you can buy a cheap red dot with a built-in 3/8" Tip-Off clamp for .22 rifles.
Or you can buy a cheap red dot with a built-in Picatinny/Weaver clamp.

But not one with a clamp that will fit both the 11mm/3/8" and the Picatinny/Weaver.

The Simmons 800879 30MM red dot(old model)
will work on the 3/8" dovetail as well as the Weaver/Picatinny
rails. eBay has them every week or so, usually going for $20-$30.

Vortex Strikefire!Excellent for the money and they come with a 2x magnifier.
