recommend a Holster for the Springfield XD .45 tactical 5 inch

From what I've seen, it's down to a simple Uncle Mikes hip holster (but will the strap engage the backstrap safety?) or the XD gear paddle. I want something simple I can draw easily from and something that'll hold my gun snug. Something that has the ability to clip to a web belt or a molle claw....just a decent holster. Don;t want to spend more than 50 either....thanks



also, I don;t have a taclight on my gun, but it'd be NICE to have a holster that would fit it if i decided to get one down the road...

De Santis makes a leather strongside holster with a thumb break, I have one for my 5" XD and like it. I think was $40. Try law enforcement supply. Unless you have a badge you can't buy firearms but you can buy holsters.

call simplyrugged.com they can make you custom leather stuff I believe. Rob is a nice guy and his leather working skills are great imo.

From what you described, a Blackhawk Serpa would do nicely. Very good fit, retention button, and the same holster can be used paddle, belt, drop-leg, or attached to MOLLE. Might have a bit a of trouble going under 50, especially for drop leg or MOLLE gear attachments. I believe the standard paddle/belt model goes for 40-50 USD.
