May have overpaid, but just couldn't resist. Fits my hand AMAZING and points incredibly nice. Love the 13 rd mags too. Haven't shot it yet, but I'm sure it'll be great. Anyone have any recommendations for hip holsters? I'm looking for one like the Uncle Mikes that have an extra mag pouch or two on the side. Also, what kind of rail is on my gun exactly? Is it RIS? And what kind of tactical light setup would you recommend, if at all? Cause that rail just looks like it's begging to be used.

cliffnotes - I want a decent molded holster like an unclike mikes that has at least one side pocket for spare mags, that'll fit the gun with a taclight and what kind of light should I use?

Those Uncle Mikes with the mag holders are crap. Having mags on the holster makes it next to impossible to actually get to them when you need them. You bought a great gun, now get a good holster for it! Check out the Phantom series by Raven Concealment Systems and also Sidearmor. Both make great pistol with light holsters.
As for the light rail, I threw a Streamlight TLR-1 on it. Works great. Excellent gun you've got there!

I use a Streamlight TLR-1 on my XD-45. My hands are big enough that I can toggle the switch with my support hand thumb without changing my grip. It's a thing of beauty when a gun and light fit together so well.

I prefer an IWB holster myself. If you choose to go that route, try the Crossbreed Supertuck or the Comp-tac MTAC holsters. I've used both with no complaints.

i use a m6 on my xd. you can't go wrong with the tlr, m3/6, surefire, etc, they are all good to go in my book. my light/gun combo holster is a blade tech.

i wouldn't carry the gun and weapon mounted light at the same time. it is a big package to try and conceal. for hd i go gun mounted ligt sure. when i carry handheld light is the route that i go. as well as the above poster i prefer iwb for concealment. blade tech, raven concealment, cross breed, comp tac mtac, are all great options.

Fist #43

FWIW, I've found the XD 45 Tactical one of my best handgun purchases yet - and I've been buying rather selectively and shooting for quite some time now. I've found the Fist #43 holster remarkably comfortable with this gun.

I wish you the best with your gun.

Good buy. My XD .45 is my favorite trash blaster and I keep it in the night stand too. I have a light on it but I can't recall the brand right now. It's a good one though.

I don't carry mine except shoved in my pocket, open carry style.

sweet 45acp !

YOU WONT REGRET THAT PURCHASE !!!!

I have an XD45 Tactical and it is THE most accurate 45acp that I own....... very sweet shooter with the factory trigger option on mine that makes people say stop shootin that hole there is no paper there!.... a guy at the range shot it while I shot his HK an then he said I want one !
I have had 1 ftf with a corbon hp that had a very low jacket on the projectile that caught on the way in and didnt feed ..all the rest fired till it locked back the slide on E !
Myself an others have since fired several boxes of all kinds of ammo thru it ( even wolf). without even a hint of trouble !!!
With 14 rounds of 45acp... its an idiots worse fear :p:p:p
Mine lives just inches from my head at nite

I can echo much of what's been said so far. For someone with only some experience with pistols above .22 caliber, my XD45T has really been a great first 'big pistol' buy. What a smooth accurate shooter it is! A polymer-framed pistol with a trigger safety and more capacity than my .22 autoloader was as great a change as you can get, but what an easy transition. I only wish I could afford to shoot it all the time! No problems with any ammo, just that someof the stuff in the bargain range is very dirty. But the XD's easy to take down and I don't mind cleaning it!
