Greetings.

Here is my situation:

I have:
a Glock 22
a Sidearmor OWB holster (1.25")
a Wilderness 5-stitch belt (1.25")

I am heading off the training at Firearms Academy Seattle (FAS-2) on August 28..and I need magazine pouches. Doing research on the "best" pouches for me has led me to re-think my long term equipment needs, specifically, whether I should stay with 1.25" equipment or if I should go to a more robust size (1.5" - 1.75") . I hate buying too many things twice..*G*

Anyway....Along with this class, I anticipate getting involved in IPSC where my belt will be carrying multiple mag pouches, my gun..and holding up my trousers.

What are folks opinion on the 1.25 Wilderness belt? Will it accommodate..or should I be thinking about going with a wider belt and, thus...having to get another holster and purchasing mag pouches to accommodate?

Lastly...if your recommendation is to go larger than 1.25"...what would recommendations be for a belt....?

Note: This belt will not be used for concealed carry...just for IPSC and range work.

Much thanks.

1.25" is OK. My personal preference is 1.50", but you don't have to change everything. 1.75" is too wide for most pant belt loops, so measure your clothes before you make that choice.

Blade-tech, Comp-tac and Kytac all make great mag pouches -- Kytac are my favorite. www.kytac.com

Fobus double-mag paddle carriers work well for basic training and range work. I used a single mag model for 3 years of carry and a double for hinky situations and range work, including a couple training classes. Never had a problem. I also shot an IDPA course with the double mag carrier. For $20, not bad.

I now use a Comp-Tac Gurkha IWB and a single-mag-and-Surefire carrier.

Since you've already got a Sidearmor, get their mag carrier.

If 1.25 works well for you just stay with it.

FWIW, am using a Wilderness 1.5 5-stictch for CCW and their 1.5 "CSM" for IDPA, etc. Like it's rigid stability and micro-adjustiblity for competition and all day or weekend training courses.

Use both KyTac and Cen-Dex and think Cen-Dex's mag pouches are probably the strongest and among the most secure while still allowing fast access to mag.

(This was true 3 years ago when I bought my holster)
CenDex makes holsters with belt loops that are 1.75", but if you want 1.5 or 1.25, he has a durable rubber spacer that fits very snuggly in the belt loop to obtain a tight fit.

So if CenDex still does this, one holster will fit all 3 belt sizes.

i've removed the rubber spacer and put it back in place and it takes effort to do so. It will not come out on its own or from removing the holster from the belt.
