magazines

I understand we are currently putting up buildings that have no walls arround the bathrooms. Because now that we have the internet, we no longer need bathroom walls to write on. A gun magazine is something you stuff bullets into.

You know, at my high school that I attended for freshman year (they had built a new school that I moved to after that first year) that's actually the way it was, though I'm not sure if the lack of walls was to prevent drug use or graffiti :).

Call me modest, but I only ended up having to use those toilets 3 or 4 times. It was an absolute last resort.

Of course, at the new school they had walls but no toilet paper in the stalls. I ended up keeping my own roll in my bookbag. No secret to anyone what you're doing when you asked to be dismissed and then walked out of class carrying a roll of tp . . .

They are called CLIPS!!! :neener:

Actually, they are called periodicals (which itself is short for periodical journal)...although you can "clip" things out of them. ;) Use of the word "magazine" for certain periodicals was originally an advertising gimmick , implying that they contained so much and varied information that they are like a "magazine" (i.e. storehouse) of knowledge. Basically, it's slang. :neener:

The mags mentioned by the O.P. are pretty elementary. If you wish to move beyond that, I really enjoy GUNS and American Handgunner. For much more technical reading, there are Rifle and Handloader.

Hi. Most of the gun rags are an extension of the manufacturer's marketing departments. In over 30 years, I've seen exactly one article, in one magazine, that didn't say the subject wasn't the best thing since sliced bread. Forget which magazine and who wrote the article, but it called the HK VP-70 a Jam-a-matic. Lots and lots of repetition too. Every one of 'em has run a '9mm vs .45ACP' article numerous times.
You'd be better to hit your local public library and read every firearm related book they have. The assorted 'Annuals' have lots of good info. Even though most articles come from old publications.

thanks.. i went up to barnes and noble and i ended up gettin some rifle, american handgunner, american cop, and guns magazines.. theyre way better than the ones i mentioned before.

Try "Gun Tests'" for unbiased reviews. Any of the mags are good as they contain about the same content IMHO. My favorites are Gun Tests, American Handgunner, Shotgun News, and anything with Mos Ayoob articles.
