I saw a S&W 14 6" tonight at the range that looked to be in pretty good shape, honest wear, no rust, good lockup, pinned barrel, can't remember the serial number. Rather than request prices on here, can someone recommend some good reference material for pricing used firearms?

Much thanks.

Go to the library or bookstore and pick up a "Blue Book of Gun Values" Also look on gunsamerica and gunbroker

Take care-Anthony

You'll find the Blue Book next to useless for a lot of firearms - notably Smith and Wessons. Your best bet is to look at the finished auctions on GunBroker or Auction Arms and see what a similar firearm sold for. That's what they're worth.

The blue book is practically worthless because 90% of vendors ignore those prices unless it benefits them.

I recommend taking an average of the prices on Auctionarms and gun broker.

I bought a S&W 64-3 with a 6 in pinned barrel for $175

Not sure if that helps at all.

Actually, that really hurts. I paid $325 for mine. :(

My best gun price references are at the local gun shows, but of course they are limited in that not all models are represented. My backups are the online auctions. poppy
