recurve bow string

I have an old recurve bow that needs new string.I looked on the limb of the bow and it said 53".I have found new string for my recurve but it is 52" long.will that string work or do I need to find 53" string?

I just found a 54" bow string would that be better?

You will need a string length of 50" to be right for that bow.

When braced it should be around 7" - 8" between the deepest part of the grip to the string.
