Red Dot Magnifier

Hey all,

I have a Vortex Strikefire and had a question that likely applies to other red dot sights. Is it possible to magnify the optic from the front of the sight opposed to the rear? This way you wouldn't just magnify the dot at the eye, but would magnify through the objective. Does anyone make this kind of magnifier or is there any problem I should expect to run into with this kind of magnification?

That is exactly how the Vortex SPARC works (2x screw-on magnifier). It has a pretty small field of view, but for longer range shooting with my m1 carbine, it is definitely better than nothing.
