I was wondering what the general consensus is on mounting red dots...
I have a YHM AR with a full (HUGE!) rail (44 positions). I have a Bushnell TRS-25 on UTG rail, which is co-witnesses with YHM BUIS.
I've tried it back on the upper at position 13, up on the barrel on position 18 and up further on position 30. From just looking at it in house and dry firing, I prefer it further up...doesn't impede my vision any.
Most people will say you don't know until you try it...I haven't had a chance to try it as you cannot find 5.56 anywhere in town (and I'm not camping out for ammo...) I did grab 5 boxes of crap, steel-cased Herters off Cabelas last week for 35 cents a round and that should be here this week, so I should be able to shoot this weekend.
So, where are other folks running their red dots?
