I'm wondering whether anyone else has run into this issue. I'm running a Matech rear and Magpul Pro front BUIS. I recently bought a Bushnell TRS-25 Red dot with the high (AR) mount. I'm looking for absolute cowitness since my irons are folders, but even though the high mount is supposed to work, the red dot diode in the scope which is at a 4 o'clock position covers about a third of the front sight making it difficult to line up the sights.

I ordered the UTG medium mount, but it's the same height as the high mount which came with the Bushnell. So, I'm thinking about just ordering the low mount so the front sight will sit entirely above the area obscured by the red dot diode. I've just never heard of anybody running into this problem and I don't know of anybody having to use a low mount on their AR. The Strikefire on my other rifle doesn't have a diode that protrudes into the field of view so it works perfectly.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Will the BUIS interfere with the low mount when folded? I was originally going to suggest going lower 1/3, but from your description that doesn't sound like it would necessarily help since the diode is physically protruding. Maybe run angled irons? You could keep the same mount and the irons would be completely out of the way. Price may be a factor though.

Lower 1/3 is basically how it's set up now. I have to lower the scope to raise the front sight out of the area where the diode protrudes. The BUIS won't interfere since the scope is mounted at the front of the receiver and the BUIS all the way to the back. Fortunately, the TRS-25 is a very short scope.

I'm just surprised that I've never heard of anybody having this problem and it seems like it would surface with any front sight and running lower 1/3 with the Bushnell. Thanks.
