I decided I would try a scope on it last year. I should have known better as I have never liked any scoped handgun I've shot but ignored that and went ahead. It proved to be very accurate off a rest but sure enough I didn't like it and went back to the stock iron sights. Since I had a Wig-a-tenny mount and can shoot my red dot sighted guns better than with irons I ordered a Bushnell TRS-25 for it. I received the sight yesterday afternoon and will get it mounted and bore sighted this afternoon. Forecast says Saturday will be a pretty nice day so I am planning a range trip to sight it in.

Have you considered a pistol red dot? Same concept as the TRS but lower sight picture and lighter….

Not a revolver, but if you can mount a picatinny rail, you can put a smaller sight like a Swamp Fox…

I have a Burris FastFire3 on my Single-Ten (very similar to a Single-Six) and it is gangbusters. At 50 feet it can take out a squirrel's head (if they sit still long enough). 3 MOA type sight.

I've done the same. For a picatinny mount red dot, the TRS-25 puts the center of the dot pretty dang low above the rail. The Weigand mount is what raises any red dot up a bit high, and the rail is a bit long for small red dot. I've cut my Weigand rail back to the cylinder frame to make it look less ungainly.

Every gun I have with a red dot has that type of sight and they sit even lower as they are all on dovetail mounts. I just wanted to try a tube sight for a change

Great minds think alike. :D I did the same to mine.

And of course they have a new pre-cut model and it is even available in silver now. Story of my life, buy it now and an improved version follows. My shiny SS is just going to have to make-do with a black straight cut base. At least the black base matches the TRS-25 sight.

I have the rail attached to a Redhawk and a GP100, I went full length as these are range guns and the additional weight is desired. Full underlug and full picatinny on a 6" GP100 with a vortex viper 6 moa pistol dot mounted. It's an incredible range revolver and hot loads just fly out of it with no distress for the user, right where the dot tells you they're going to land.

Jack Weigand makes a great product.

Well, how did it work out.?

I haven't shot it yet. Forecast didn't go as said and it appears as if the wind will keep me from finding out until the latter part of this week.
I hear you man. Here in Pennsylvania the weather seems to change every hour. I'm still waiting to get to the range. Hope it works out for you.
