What does a 5 MOA dot mean? The dot's big enough to cover 5 MOA
at 100 yards? SO what, covers 5" of the target?

And what does "Eye Relief" unlimited on a tasco 1x30? Does that mean you
don't have to have your eye within a certain distance from the scope to see
the dot? I mean, w no magnification, I would think you woudln't need it, but...

Anyway, I need a little red dot for my daughters Henry 22, so any suggestions are appreciated.

You got it right both times. Yes, a 5 MOA dot will measure approximately 5" at 100 yards. Unlimited eye relief means you can locate the sight anywhere. It doesn't have to be within a specific distance from the eye.

For a good affordable dot sight, I'd look at the Leapers units. They make several designs. Personally, I like their 30mm "Swatforce" model. It also has red/green illumination. Green works better in bright daylight than red. The "Tactedge" 7 inch unit is nice also. Both models come in a Weaver version or a .22 rail version. They run about the same price as the BSA models but don't have the dark coating and parallax error issues that the BSAs do.
