Red Particles

I was cleaning my Russian Makarov the other day after going shooting. At first I only field stripped it and cleaned it that way, until I noticed down in the trigger action there were red particles. So I detail stripped it and there was a ton. I have never seen these things and I noticed that they made my trigger pull very rough. Does anybody know what these red particles are? I was shooting norinco and some noname brand of ammo calibered in 9x18.

Maybe it's what's left of a Russian draftee who wanted to go home. If you shoot Wolf or some of the other milsurp ammo, the lacquer can get onto the gun - some of it is red, I think.
