I recently bought an M96 and it came with a one piece Redfield base. I need a set of high rings in order to get the bolt clearance I need, and was wondering if a set of standard Leupold high rings would fit on the Redfield base.

Thanks!

Yep, I have used several types of "standard" (dovetail and windage screws) rings/mounts and all seem to play fairly well together.

:)

I've mixed & matched Redfield bases & Leupold rings on a couple of 700's.
They do fine.
As scopes come and go however, I'm going back to Redfield rings-
only becuase I like the ones they have where the set screws for the rings come up through the bottom
instead of going down from the top.
I've also got a 03A3 with a Leupold base & my favorite, (clean top) Redfield rings.

FWIW, I just bought a set of Burris Signature rings (the ones with the plastic insert than doesn't mar your scope tube) and they are great. I have them mounted to Millet standard bases that were on sale at Midway last month.

:)
