I'm looking at having a Redhawk worked on (barrel shortened, action, grip reduction, etc.). I know that Bowen Classic Arms does a great job but I was wondering if anyone has had work done by Clements Custom Guns. I was looking on their website and they would do the same work as Bowen for about 30% less. The question is, would the quality be as good? Anyone with any experience with this? Thanks.

dont know much about Clemens, but if I was doing a big bore single action Id be sending it to Bowen...

The folks over at Sixgunner.com think pretty highly of Mr. Clements. I've not heard a bad word spoken of him and am saving up to have him do my Redhawk.

I had a Bisley worked on by Mr. Clements last year and cannot recommend him highly enough. Great work, fair prices.

Based purely on what I've heard, Clements is a good lower-cost alternative to Bowen. So is Jim Stroh at Alpha Precision, and there's an up-and-comer name of....of....dang, starts with an "H" I think, based in California, did DE50's radical chopped-and-resighted SRH454? AH! Found it, Jack Huntington. DE50 had several of his pieces, quite good work.
