Anyone have a couple of reduced velocity, light bullet loads for the .223? Is it possible to down load the .223 to .22 magnum rimfire levels?

I believe cast in a 223 would be .224 diameter most likely with a gas check. Keep in mind the velocity you expect to shoot them at when deciding on your source of lead.

If anyone has any info on cast subsonic loads in 223 to go through a silencer I'd be interested. Of course if that is even feasable.

Its not for lead, but I thought this interesting...

Search the Hodgdon site for .223 55 gr. Hornaday FMJ's using either Titegroup or Clays; subsonic.

Also, for low report (but not subsonic,) I have used 15 to 13 gr. of Blue Dot with 52 gr. and 60 gr. bullets respectively. I have not done much work with these two loads, but I think there is some potential there.

I have been experimenting with 22g of H335 behind a 60g Nosler balistic tip spitzer in my AR. This is a fairly quiet, low recoil load but till has enough punch to work the action cleanly.
