After seeing what Old Painless did to his Sistema .45, I got to thinking about the CZ-52 I have sitting in my cabinet.

Perhaps it might look nicer with a bit of black Duracoat? Polish up the internals and see what happens? Replace the insides with modern parts? Or even a slide release? Or a compensator?

Given that I've never refinished or customized a "real" gun, I'm looking for advice. I have had a bit of experience doing similar things with paintball guns. The obvious things to remember, such as "dear lord, don't take off too much metal" are the same, one might assume.

Any tips, tricks, suggestions, decent websites that I should know about?

iol 06106. but as a labor of love, please post pictures--i really enjoy mine but if it brakes, i'd just get another. good luck

Forget the paint.
If you want a CZ-52 that looks really tricky I will suggest having the pistol bright nickle plated or electroless nickle plated and fitting some walnut grips to the gun.

At first glance many people who know guns will think it is a Desert Eagle.

Checkered walnut grips are a definite.

Nickle plating, you say? Your ideas intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
