Can an FN SLP, or Winchester SX2 for that matter, be refit with the parts which enable a browning gold to be speed loaded?

I find this to be a very handy feature and in the case of needing a reload after expending all available ammunition, it would take away the step of loading one in the chamber and re-topping off the tube.

I seem to remember there being at least one company doing the conversion, but (typical old timer's disease) I don't recall what company it was. They specialized in working on Browning Golds for the 3-gun crowd IIRC.

There was some debate about the long term viability of doing the conversion, because it is such a mechanically complicated balance of spring tensions and mechanical resistances. It all sounded pretty complicated to me, anyway.

One of the students in my basic shotgun class (Awerbuck) used a Browning Auto 5 with that feature, and it sure was an advantage when we hit the 'load one shoot one' stage of things.

One option for those of us who have guns which lack that feature is to 'load two shoot one' first, then do the 'load one shoot one' routine thereafter until things are under control or time permits a real reload.
