Does anyone have data for Reloader 15 in the 7.5 Swiss? I sent Alliant a note, and all they had was the 130 grain bullet data from the Hornady Handbook (which I already had).

I'm looking for data for 168 grain BTHP and/or 155 grain Hornady A-Max bullets.

Thanks

7,5x55 Swiss

Because living in Finland: VihtaVuori (23,5" test barrel, twist 10" Cases Norma trim-to lenght 2,181" ) 155gr Lapua Scenar col 2,972" N-140 min 46,3gr 2490fps /max 49,1gr 2661fps. - N-540 min 47,1gr 2513fps / max 50,1gr 2762fps. - N-150 min 46,8gr 2503fps /max 49,7gr 2674fps. And then 185gr Lapua Scenar col 2,972" N-140 min 37,8gr 2277fps /max 41,8gr 2329fps.- N-540 min 42,3gr 2257fps / max 44,3gr 2369fps. - N-150 min 44,gr 2287fps / max 45,2gr 2372fps. Lapua Scenar HB BT-bullet. I think Reloader 15 is like N-140. I only think so. :uhoh:

7,5 Swiss...

You can to use 7,62x54R starting loads. Also .308 Win loads are quite near. I think also Reloader 19 is like Vihtavuori N-150.

>What type of swiss is it K31, 1889? i have some data at home i've used reloader 15 in the past.

It is a K31. I should have specified.

I have found Reloader 15 to be a bit too fast for my k31 7.5 swiss. I was getting pressure signs quickly and not getting the velocities or accuracy I wanted in a 165 grain remington psp bullet. I have not tried, but believe reloader 19, would be better suited to the 7.5 swiss. I found that Hodgdon's 4350 is just right for mine--it has a burn rate between reloader 19 and 22.

There are two 7.5 Swiss cartridges in my QuickLoad program. One operates at a significantly higher pressure (GP11) than the other (GP90/03) and haven't the foggiest notion as to which is which; I have not loaded nor fired either.

However, the GP11 should be just fine with RL-15 and Sierra 168 gr Matchkings. That was just for starters and is only meant as a calculated load to test for probable compatibility. I do not have specific loads that have actually been tested. It would work with 180 gr Sierra Matchkings, too and the 155 grain Palma bullet would work as well.

For 150gr sierra flat base soft-point ,I use 49.5gr Rel15. The muzzle velocity is 2836fps ,oal 2.894" ,crimped w/lee fc or not. This load is very accurate out my 1946 k31 ,.5" three-shot groups and less at 120yds. The action is glass-bedded at forward action screw and pillar-bedded at same...makes all the difference.

I use 40 grains of RL-15 with 165 grain Sierras as the standard 7.5x55 Swiss load in my K-31s. Velocity averages 2415 fps and SD is about 15.

Something like 42 grains of RL-15 (for 2520 fps) is a max charge with these bullets, but accuracy and SD is worse with the hotter load.

Works for me, but YMMV.

Hodgdon's site has data for 168 grain bullets. 150 grain data will be close enough for the 155. 5 grains isn't that much difference. It'll take you longer to work up the load though. You may just want to reconsider using Reloader 15. It'd be less fuss.
Since Alliant doesn't have data published it likely means they haven't done any load work for the cartridge.
"...You can to use 7.62x54R starting loads..." No, you can't. The 7.62 x 54 doesn't use .308" bullets. Nor can you use data for the .308 Win.
