Why is the Hornady55 gr V-Max using powder data from H335 starts at 20.8 gr. Min to 23.2 Max. The Max velocity is at 3100 fps.
On Nosler Varmageddom 55 gr. FB Tipped using the same powder H335 starts at 23.00 gr. min at 2920 fps to 25.00 gr. Max, with a velocity of 3140.

Really doesn't make sense is basically the same bullet but with so much of a difference.

What is your opinion on this two particular bullets if you have using them in the past?

Hmm kinda strange

where did that data come from? i see the Nossler data, i have that, but where did the Hornady come from?

I have shot MANY MANY MANY 55gr V-Max Bullets, and H335 is my powder

I curently Load them with 25.0gr of H335.... and was getting an average of 2790fps... OAL was usualy 2.23
Very accurate Bullet... tack driver for sure.... Not a Cheap plinker but great Accuracy Bullet for sure

Make sure you keep in Mind, Most Published data is from a 20"-24" barrel... mine is a 16" barrel so max FPS will not be close to their data
Nossler states a 24" Barrel

Closest data i have found is Sierra, they used a Colt AR 20" Barrel
H335 23.6/2700fps 24.3/2800fps 25.0/2900fps 25.7/3000fps

so Mine at 25gr is very similar to Sierra's Data

I load all 55gr bi-metal bullets with 24.5 gr of H335/WC844. Works well for me and has good velocity.

The Data I got it from a Hornady book 9 edition and Nosler book the new edition 7th edition.
I use them on a bolt action rifle.
I just don't understand why companies test bullets with the same specs and they get totally diferent results from everyone else in General...

Lyman book 49th edition stars at 24.3 and you can increase it to 27.00gr when Hornady their high is 23.3

Different testing media, different lot numbers, different techniques, different everything. This is very common. Did you check out the powder distributors data site. Their data should never be ignored, as they are the ones that know their powders inside and out.

Since you are using the Hornady bullet, I would compare their data to the data shown on Hogdon's site.
