what powder are you using and when was the last time you bought some ?

if you are buying, where are you getting it ? at whay price ?

my reserve supply has gotten dangerously low, thus curtailing my 200+ rounds fired once a week.

i use W-748, Ramshot TAC, Exterminator, BLC-2, 223 CFE.

can not find any of the above, i was told by one of the main powder suppliers there are so many new ammo manufacturers that buy up all the powder for 5.56mm and 7.62mm.

any thoughts or or ideas about this powder shortage ?

I have been able to get some W748. RL 15, TAC & Varget in small amounts lately ... not nearly as much as I'd like ... I have used RL 10X and others ... but can't find any lately.

I have many thought about the powder "shortage" .... but zero evidence to back up anything I may say .... there is little I can do except keep an eye open and buy where I find powder on the shelf(if it is at a fair price).... I have been able to shoot ... but nothing like I'd like to ... especially .22 Rimfire ...

Power Pro Varmint and BL-C(2). Recently on the PPV. BL-C(2), a while back.

LGS. about $25/lb.

It's more the pistol powders that are harder to get around here; selection is down for rifle powder, but I always find something I can use.

I have used BLC(2), H335, 8208xbr, and just a little TAC.
(have not had time to do works on TAC yet)

I really liked (my rifle) the BLC(2) the best of these 3 though 8208 was close.
All meter well, ball (flattened ball) powders.

I use 748 for light bullets and Varget for heavy. I have used H335 and H322 and both work good for light bullets.

On a whim, stopped by Cabella's in E. Hartford (CT) last night. Had CFE 223 in abundance for $28.99. Too rich for my blood. Also had a decent assortment of other powders that I did not make note of. Looks like the powder situation is beginning to improve locally.

For the past 2 years I have been using nothing but H335 but TAC is also very good. I want to give CFE223 a try when I can find some locally.

I have used a lot of H335 and it works very well for me.

MidSouth has a sale on CFE 223 powder right now. I just purchased 8 pounds of Reloader 17 from Powder Valley.

I just found some Winchester 748 at my local Bass Pro, starting to use it. First group at near start load was the best, 1" @ 100 yards. Need to try a few more and work up to max, see what's what. Using 55gr VMax. Also liking Reloder 15, working real well in heavy, (for me, 1:9 barrel), 75gr HPBT. I'm still playing around with H335, it's been decent, I've been loading it using 60gr Hornady SP. Not sure which one needs improvement. Hasn't been bad, just not as good as some of my other 'work'.
