Apparently there aren't enough projects around my house !
On a whim, i ordered some Geco brass cased cartridges with reloading in mind for my CZ527 (and my Chinese SKS to a lesser degree).
New to reloading (2 1/2 yrs) and only have worked with .223 and 9mm.
Wondering if anyone else here have reloaded for the CZ527 and what you have come up with, for pet loads.
lighter or heavier bullet?
favorite powders/primers?
what diameter bullets
dies?

will some of my .223 components work well with the 7.62x39?
(have a bunch of Rem 7 1/2 primers and an assortment of powders)
You know, the usual newb questions.

Yes, I'll be checking my manuals. just looking for your experiences and sage advice.

Thanks in advance for your help/advice.

Bob

The steel case ammo has been so accurate in my cz i have not loaded for it yet. The power is good to. If I did load of start with cfe blk and probably the Sierra pro hunter, if you can find the ppu bullets there pretty good.

I am interested in the geco ammo in the cz.

Hornaday 123 gr Spire Points work well over AA 1680, but I usually shoot cheap with home cast 129 gr NOA powder coated, also on top of AA 1680. I cannot remember the exact load, not at home right now. Also, there are some brass that take the small rifle primers, Remington's, IIRC, but most of the reloadable brass I have been lucky enough to find has all been large rifle primer.
My 527M has been modified somewhat...

BTW, I am not TOO far away in southern AZ...:D not like going to New York!

I reload for a RAR and I mostly use Accurate 1680 as it meters well, I would like to try CFE BLK but I have not seen it locally.
Nosler's 123gr .310" VG bullet shoots well for me, I noticed they added two more 123gr .310" bullets to their line a ballistic tip and a E-tip.

I’ve got a Howa in 7.62 X 39. It likes 25 grains of H4198 under a Sierra 125 grain Pro-Hunter flat base spire point. These are .311 diameter. (Sierra box states 303 caliber) I’m using Winchester cases and Federal 210 primers. My bullets are seated 25/1000” off the lands. Bullet chronographs an average of 2268 fps out of a 20” barrel. In my rifle that load shoots 1/2” groups at 100 yards.

Tula (Russian) ammunition markets a 154 grain (yup, 154 grains) soft point bullet in the 7.62x39mm round. I have a CZ 527 carbine and the chronograph (Radarlab) says they are doing about 2150 fps. I've done some experimenting and can run a 150 grain .303 British bullet up to between 2250 and 2300 fps. About equal to a low end .30-30 rifle and to my mind, a bit more handy.

However, this is not any of the semi-autos, it is a bolt gun.
